ITV has given us a first look at the new trailer today, which promotes the open auditions tour for the talent contest's thirteenth series.
It sees Dermot celebrate his return by high-fiving some passing schoolgirls, kicking a football about with a group of boys, and even hugging a bemused binman.
However, the show is stolen by Wagner, who memorably sung 'She Bangs' and 'Bat Out Of Hell' as a contestant on the seventh series in 2010. He was dressed in one of his typically eye-catching outfits, with a bright red shirt and a huge hat.
A pair of dog walkers and a black taxi cab can also be spotted in the advert, which will begin airing on TV imminently.
Speaking about his comeback, Dermot said: "I'm very flattered to be asked back to The X Factor, and am currently dusting off my dancing shoes. There is nothing more exciting than hosting live TV on a Saturday night.
"The show is naturally very close to my heart, after having hosted it for 8 years. I'm really looking forward to it, and excited to be back."
Earlier, X Factor bosses announced dates and locations for the open auditions, which will see them travel to eight cities from Dublin to Glasgow in search of the UK's next singing superstars.
Hopefuls can also audition online whenever they want at the X Factor website.
