Louis Walsh is said to be talks to make his return to The X Factor this year.
The Irish music mogul has apparently been meeting with boss Simon Cowell in America for negoiations ahead of auditions for the new series.
It comes after ITV confirmed that Dermot O'Leary WILL be back hosting the show once again.
"Simon met Dermot O'Leary in Los Angeles last week and a few days later he was announced as the show host," a source said today. "It is no coincidence that Louis is in LA spending time with Simon too."
They told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "If the meeting goes well and there are no last minute hitches then Louis will almost certainly be a judge again. It's just a case of juggling the judging panel."
According to The Sun newspaper, Simon is "doing all he can" to agree a deal with Louis to join this year's line up of judges.
“Simon didn’t really want Louis to go in the first place," a show source told the tabloid.
They added: "Louis is up for it. Simon wants an older person back after admitting last year’s series was too youthful, which might have made more people go to Strictly.”
While Louis has said recently he'd be happy to return, he also warned: "I wouldn't go back unless it was the right people."
And who are those "right people"? Well alongside himself, Louis reckons the best ever X Factor panel would be made up of Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell.
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: "No decisions have been taken on the panel for this year."
