Nick Grimshaw has explained just why he decided to leave The X Factor.
The Radio 1 DJ has insisted he wasn't sacked from the show but opted to leave after just one year because 'it was just too much work.'
Getting up at 5AM to do his radio show and then staying at auditions until 1AM left Nick wanting out.
"I was doing the show in the morning and then working on X Factor from midday to midnight. It was every day," he explained. "I will miss X Factor but I don’t regret my decision to go."
Speaking to the Daily Star, Nick added he also wanted to avoid the usual press speculation over his future on the show.
"There hadn’t been any discussions when I made my decision," he said. "So I thought before there were months of speculation over who was going to be back, I’d say I didn’t want to and get it out of the way."
While Nick's announcement hasn't meant any rumours over whether or not he'll be back it has prompted a flurry of reports over who will replace him.
Front runners include One Direction's Louis Tomlinson and former judge Louis Walsh, although the likes of Robbie Williams have also been touted as potential new judges.
Of course nothing is confirmed about the new series just yet, including if Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora will be back.
