X Factor contestant Josh Daniel seems to have benefited from missing out on the live shows.
Josh famously made Simon Cowell CRY in his first emotional audition, singing Labrinth's Jealous in tribute to a late friend.
The talented singer made it as far as judges' houses this year but wasn't picked by mentor Nick Grimshaw for the live shows - despite Nick actually backing Josh to win the series in his Xtra Factor prediction.
While he may have just missed out on becoming a finalist, The Sun newspaper reports that Josh is now being courted by Jay-Z's Roc Nation record label.
A source told the tabloid today: "Josh was crushed by his unexpected X Factor departure, but it's been a blessing in disguise.
"As much as he would have loved to have Simon as a boss, to be at Roc Nation, with an icon like Jay Z running the show, is a huge deal."
The insider added: "He's recording with Roc Nation here and in the US in preparation for his debut album."
Since leaving the show, Josh has been uploading covers to his YouTube channel which has now notched up almost 15,000 subscribers.
His latest song - Justin Bieber's Love Yourself - has been watched and impressive 10,000 times in just the past 24 hours.
