Nick Grimshaw's six chair challenge with the Boys had plenty of drama tonight.
Things started slowly for Nick with all his chairs still empty after a number of performances.
However it then picked up with all six seats getting filled in quick succession by Tom Bleasby, Jame Eldridge, Papasidero, Simon Lynch, Nathanael Landskroner and Seann Miley Moore.
Performing after, Ben Clark proved to be a dark horse with Nick admitting that he had originally written the 25-year-old off.
Ben's cover of Kodaline's All I Want saw him win a seat but Nick had to swap out another of the guys, picking Tom.
It was a controversial decision that caused huge outrage at Wembley Arena from not only the audience but judges too.
"You're crazy," Rita told the Radio 1 DJ, "The crowd is going to kill you."
With the audience turning on Nick, he decided to backtrack and brings back Tom but it still meant having to swap another guy out with seven on stage and only the six seats.
Eventually Nick opted to say goodbye to 16-year-old Nathanael Landskroner as the six chair challenge continued.
"What happens if the next two are good?" asked Simon Cowell.
"That's what I'm freaking out about!" Nick replied.
More drama in Nick's category earlier in tonight's show had seen Mason Noise battle Simon Cowell in a row that resulted in Mason storming off the stage before Nick had a chance to deliver his verdict.
The X Factor continues next Sunday night on ITV with the final part of the six chair challenge featuring the Overs.
