Rita Ora was not ready for X Factor's brutal six chair challenge

New X Factor judge Rita Ora has been fearing the six chair challenge after hearing stories from last year.

The newbie and her fellow panellists will enter the lion's den from this weekend as they each whittle the acts in their categories down to just three.

Rita has the Girls, Nick Grimshaw is with the Boys, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is in control of the Groups and Simon Cowell is in charge of the Overs.

"The six chair challenge was the one I was dreading," Rita admitted. "I'd been warned about it, Cheryl was abused about it last year, she had things thrown at her, they had to stop filming."

Filming took place at Wembley Arena last month and Rita recalled: "Simon said I was not ready and I was not ready. I got the best category which are the girls, so I am very happy, but I felt like I was in a den, the crowd had a lot to say... it can be pretty scary."

While Rita may have had some tough decisions to make at least that was because her acts all brought it to the stage with some incredible performances.

It was a very different story for the Boys as Rita's fellow new judge Nick was left sending many home without filling a seat.

Rita quipped to Grimmy after the string of poor performances: "I feel sorry for you, you can help me with my girls if you want."

But she added: "It came back around in the end."

The X Factor 2015 continues this Sunday night from 7PM on ITV.
