Nick Grimshaw has found himself under attack after his six chair challenge on this year's X Factor.
The Radio 1 DJ had to pick his final six boys yesterday but struggled after many of the acts cracked under pressure.
Performances were branded 'dire' while Rita Ora claimed that many acts had disappointed her.
Simon Cowell blasted one hopeful for being 'absolutely horrendous' while another was booed off the stage by the audience at Wembley Arena last night.
But it was Nick's decision to axe contestant Ollie Marland that caused the biggest controversy and a mini Twitter storm - and all before the show had even aired.
It was reported earlier this year that 20-year-old Ollie had auditioned for the show having already proved a hit online with almost 100,000 Twitter followers and a third of a million Facebook likes.
Therefore when Nick turned him away from judges' houses many were not happy.
Ollie wrote on Twitter after filming had wrapped up: "I thought I gave my best! but hey ho thanks to everyone who supports & continues to support me, you don't know how much it means foreal x"
Many of his fans were quick to blast Nick as #OllieMarlandForWildcard began to trend.
One Twitter user warned Grimmy: "The world is gonna hate you for kicking Ollie off the seat."
The X Factor's six chair challenge airs next month on ITV.
For now, the show continues this Saturday and Sunday night with the latest round of auditions.
