Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has said she will not be performing on The X Factor live shows this year.
Instead, the Girls Aloud star is looking to focus on her charity, Cheryl's trust, which has been set up to help disadvantaged youths in the North East.
"You won’t be seeing me perform this year," Cheryl declared today. "I’m focused on my charity, I have got a trust at the moment that’s taking a lot of work and obviously this show is a massive job in itself."
Cheryl also denied reports that she was set to release another album this autumn, saying: "I’m just having fun in the studio doing bits and pieces for maybe next year, but not this year, I’m totally focused on the show and on the charity."
However it's a very different story for newbie judge Rita Ora, with X Factor boss Simon Cowell revealing: "Of course we will be seeing Rita perform, 100%!
"It’s interesting with Rita, I still don’t know that much about her. Even though she’s famous, there’s still a lot of people who don’t know her that well. So seeing her on the show as a judge and then as a performer is going to be amazing."
Rita herself had even bigger plans, wanting to not only perform herself but saying she was also hoping to duet with her acts like on The Voice.
"I hope I get to do the duets with the contestant in the final. I’m looking forward to that so fingers crossed I get to the final," Rita said.
The X Factor begins Saturday night on ITV at 8PM.
