X Factor boss Simon Cowell's major shake up of the show is apparently down to him being 'BORED' of it all.
This year's show has already seen host Dermot O'Leary depart after eight series, tipped to be replaced by former Xtra Factor presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.
And Simon's keen to change every aspect of the show... if he can.
"Simon wants a massive shake up of The X Factor. Frankly, he's bored of the way it is at the moment," a source said this week.
Officially, none of the judges are confirmed for the new series yet although Simon has hinted that Cheryl will be "fine".
The source claimed that Cheryl's position was at risk but that there has been a struggle to find a suitable 'leading lady' to replace her with.
"He's been searching for that all-elusive woman, but so far he doesn't feel he's found her," the insider told Star magazine.
It's been speculated that Louis Walsh won't be back and last week he seemed to confirm the news after declaring he was "done" with the show.
And as for Mel B, she said recently she's as in the dark as the rest of us.
The truth is that Simon can't seem to decide who to keep and who to hire.
"Many who are involved in the show feel that [Simon Cowell] is playing mind games," the source explained. "No-one is safe from the Cowell axe."
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: "It's too early to confirm the judges for next year. Each year we look at all aspects of the show, from the judges to the format, but it is too early to say what the on-screen changes might be this year. The judges are usually only signed for one series at a time."
