Turns out that Louis Walsh may be harder to get rid of than we all thought.
It was reported at the weekend that the veteran X Factor judge was going to get the axe, but he may be saved yet.
Not because there's been a Jeremy Clarkson style huge outcry in support for Louis, but rather Simon Cowell is finding it difficult to find a suitable replacement.
The Sun newspaper reports that Simon is keen to inject new life into The X Factor and that Louis' spot on the panel is at risk.
"He’s unlikely to stay because we are actively looking at new options for his role," a source told the tabloid.
However the insider added that there were difficulties in agreeing a new face to join the show.
The source said: “It’s hard to convince a big-name male judge to come on board and Brian Friedman was a disaster when he briefly took over from Louis.
“Robbie Williams, Noel Gallagher and Elton John have all turned down the job in the past."
Already Robbie has publicly denied rumours he'll be joining the show, writing on Twitter: "re: X Factor rumours - I wouldn't put any money on this if I was you. I love X Factor but I'm busy this year...RW x"
And former X Factor finalist Olly Murs - who turned down the job last year - is widely tipped to replace Dermot O'Leary has host.
