Sarah-Jane Crawford is said to be in the running to take over presenting The X Factor 2015.
The current (at least as of right now) Xtra Factor host is said to be 'in the frame' to replace Dermot O'Leary.
It's understood that former Xtra Factor presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack are also potential names being discussed for the role on the main show.
“Sarah Jane is perfect for the role and she is very much up there with one or two others to get the big job," a source said today.
They revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “She took over the Xtra Factor last year and impressed the executives on the show, as well as at Simon’s company, Syco, but most importantly Simon himself."
Speaking about Radio 1Xtra DJ Sarah-Jane last December after the end of the eleventh series, Simon said: "I think she’ll be back next year. She makes me laugh and she’s got better the longer she’s done it.”
Sources claimed that Simon reckons Sarah can help make the show more 'hip and trendy' and bring a younger audience.
They explained: “He sees her as a star, she has got everything it takes."
The insider added: “The view was that Dermot was getting too old for the gig, that it was time for someone much younger and fresher.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor said only that a new presenter will be announced "in due course".
The X Factor will air on ITV later this year.
