The champ claimed that all of the contestants voted for themselves with free votes via the X Factor app available last year for the first time.
But Ben also insisted that he did spend his free votes on some other acts too.
Ben said: "I downloaded the app and voted for different people every week! I my have put one or two votes in for myself- I think everyone was guilty of that at some point, but I voted for loads throughout as well.
"I didn't vote [on the final], I didn't even think about it, to be honest. The only thing I did was go home and say, 'We're going to be playing Wembley!'".
Ben confessed that winning the show came as a huge shock and was something he'd never imagined when first auditioning.
"Back then, my confidence wasn't on top form. I'd had knock-backs from being in a band before and not getting anywhere, so you feel like may it's not working out.
"I didn't even think I've get to the judges' houses. In the first audition, half way through the first song, Simon's hand went up and I thought, 'That's never a good sign'"
However fast forward 12 month and Ben is now working alongside Simon on his debut album, due out later this year.
Before that, Ben will headline the X Factor 2015 live tour from February.
