Last night we saw a rather lovable performance from Idina Menzel on The X Factor, but Cheryl didn't seem to be a fan.

Both she and Mel B stayed seated as the Frozen star was joined by surprise guest Michael Buble on stage for a cover of Baby It's Cold Outside.

It was only the second time in X Factor history we can remember the judges not standing for a guest performer, the last time being when Cheryl and Danni snubbed Jamiroquai following comments he made about the pair in the press.

Therefore there was much speculation over just what had kept Cheryl and Mel stuck to their seats, with Cheryl now having offered up a bizarre explanation.

And it's not that she was just always a Hans fan.

"We applauded them, but sometimes it’s difficult with my dress," Cheryl claimed to the Daily Mirror newspaper. “Sometimes you have to take beauty over disaster.”

Of course, with Cheryl having been standing up and even dancing along to Fifth Harmony's performance only minutes earlier, that explanation didn't really make sense and it Cheryl knew it.

Offering up an alternative reason, Cheryl added: "Me and Mel were so engrossed in what was coming up…

“Let’s face it, it was Lauren versus Andrea… we were having a really emotional conversation.”

So that's why Cheryl and Mel didn't stand for Idina, whether you choose to believe it or not...
