X Factor's Tulisa has said she wants to return to the show's panel amid rumours of a comeback.
The singer has this week she would be up for becoming a judge on the ITV show once more after quitting in 2012.
And deciding to leave the show of her own accord is one thing that Tulisa wanted to make clear, insisting that she wasn't axed in the fallout of her sex tape and court cases.
“I never let it affect my job, I still wanted to be there, don’t get me wrong – I wasn’t putting on a fake show," Tulisa said. "It was just a case of the fight had left me.
"I did go through a stage of, before [the court case] even happened, where I didn’t want to do anything. I wanted to give up music, TV and just completely step out of the industry."
Speaking about a possible return to the X Factor panel, Tulisa told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I understand with that show that for anyone doing it, it takes a lot of energy and you have to feel it and want to do it and you have to have that passion.
"The place I’m in now, I definitely have that back again, and [it’s] something that I would and could do."
X Factor boss Simon Cowell previously backed a comeback for Tulisa to the show.
He said: “It’s about time she came back. I would have her back, definitely.
“I think she’s had a tough time. She did a good job when she was an X Factor judge."
Tulisa stepped in for Mel B on the X Factor live final at the weekend.
