Cheryl Fernandez-Versini is reportedly concerned about her future on The X Factor.
Those supposed insiders claim that Cheryl is planning an "exit strategy" from the show to avoid the "humiliation" of being axed.
The news follows claims that Simon Cowell could be again set to quit the show for the US.
The music mogul confirmed he would be back on US telly next year, with reports that an X Factor USA comeback could be on the cards after talks with FOX.
Further speculation that Simon's planning a return for Nicole Scherzinger in his place no doubt add fuel to the rumour mill fire that Cheryl could be set to leave the panel again.
"It's no secret that Cheryl's return to the show hasn't gone according to plan," a source told Star magazine this week. "She hasn't been the huge hit with viewers everyone had hoped."
The source revealed: "Simon's comments have added to Cheryl's sense of unease.
"She couldn't bear the humiliation of being fired again."
Earlier this month Cheryl hinted that she may quit the series to have a baby with her new husband, saying that she couldn't 'do both'.
The source added: "She's already thinking about possible exit strategies and a baby would be a good one."
We've heard worse reasons...
X Factor boss Simon Cowell admitted this week that show would see a lot of changes when it returns next year for what will be its twelfth series.
But for now, The X Factor 2014 concludes tonight on ITV with the live final from Wembley Arena.
