X Factor's Cheryl Cole makes chart history with fifth Number 1

Despite miming-gate, Cheryl has topped the Official Singles Chart today with a record breaking Number 1 hit.

It's the former Girls Aloud singer's fifth chart topper making her one of the most successful acts in chart history.

Cheryl now holds the record for the most Number 1s by a British female artist having previously scored Number 1s with Fight For This Love, Promise This, Call My Name and Crazy Stupid Love.

I Don't Care pushed last weekend's chart-topper Ed Sheeran down to Number 2 with Thinking Out Loud.

Meghan Trainor finishes the Top 40 today in third place with former Number One All About That Bass, John Legend vaults 26 to 4 with All Of Me following his appearance on The X Factor alongside Cheryl last weekend.

Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which the US star also performed on the live shows earlier this series, completes the Top 5.

Elsewhere, The Script enter at Number 26 with No Good In Goodbye, which they had performed in a special X Factor results show last Saturday evening.
