Cheryl Cole is looking set to scoop £2 million to return to The X Factor 2014 next year.
It's despite a slump in ratings for this year's show and most viewers calling for the Girls Aloud star to be axed.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, both Cheryl and Mel B are set to return... with massive "wage hikes".
A source told the tabloid: “Normally negotiations don’t start until after a series has finished, but it’s clear the two girls have been popular and are both keen to stay on next year.
“Obviously they have successful singing careers of their own too though which are going from strength to strength at the moment, so they are in line for a pay boost to keep them both on board."
But the insider made it clear that no deal had been signed yet, adding: “There are going to be more serious discussions over the coming weeks and hopefully a deal will be finalised early next year – but it’s only a case of ironing out the details"
However the future of Simon Cowell's own spot on the panel could be in doubt.
“Whether or not Simon does another year will depend entirely on whether he feels able to commit to the time, but it seems Louis could be for the axe," the source said.
Earlier this week an X Factor survey had revealed that most viewers wanted Cheryl gone, a result echoed in our poll where 63% voted to ditch the singer.
