Cheryl has denied miming during her performance on The X Factor 2014 after viewer complaints.
Cheryl belted out her new song I Don't Care, but came under attack for supposedly lip syncing the lyrics.
And even then, her voice also led to some to quick witted remarks from fans.
One viewer joked: "Cheryl has surely gotta be in the bottom 2 tonight?"
And another wrote online: "Even though she's miming this still sounds out of tune... "
However a representative for Cheryl told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She wasn't miming."
While Cheryl may have not been miming, it was confirmed ahead of her performance it would NOT be live, due to logistical reasons.
A spokesperson for the show explained: "Due to a big set and a costume change, Cheryl’s performance needs to be pre-recorded as-live earlier in the evening as there logicistically [sic] isn’t time to build and then remove the set within real time.
“Sunday night’s show is only an hour long and there is always a lot to schedule in.”
Following the performance Cheryl shot straight up to Number 1 on iTunes but has since fallen down to Number 2.
However a second version of the track at Number 4 should give her a relatively easy ride to another Number 1 single come Sunday's official chart.
