Cheryl Cole will NOT sing live on The X Factor 2014 this weekend.

In not at all shocking news, she's set to pre-record her performance of I Don't Care earlier in the day.

A spokesperson for the show said that the pre-record was required due to the scale of the performance.

They explained: "Due to a big set and a costume change, Cheryl's performance needs to be pre-recorded as-live earlier in the evening as there logicistically [sic] isn't time to build and then remove the set within real time.

"Sunday night's show is only an hour long and there is always a lot to schedule in."

It's news that we're sure Louis Walsh will jump on, having already taking a swipe at the Girls Aloud star ahead of the performance.

He said last week: “I’d like to see her perform, singing and dancing. I hope she sings live. I am sure she can.”

Cheryl's performance will see her sing new single I Don't Care from her upcoming fourth solo album Only Human, with the track out to download from midnight on the Sunday.

Also performing on the latest results show will be John Legend.

The X Factor 2014 continues next Saturday and Sunday on ITV with the annual Halloween special.
