X Factor contestant Lauren Platt has been accused of 'copying' her first live performance.

The 17-year-old, mentored by Cheryl Cole, put a spin on Pharrell Williams' Happy as the finalists performed live for the first time.

But some viewers have claimed that the cover was ripped off female singer Foxes.

Others hit back, saying online: "Its not a rip off if [you're] covering a cover."

Foxes - real name Louisa Rose Allen - performed a shockingly similar version of the track in Radio 1's Live Lounge earlier this year.

She tweeted: "Smart choice @cherylOfficial @TheXfactor @simoncowell to mash up Happy and Teardrop wish I'd thought of that...

"Oh wait, I did...In March."

On Saturday night, Simon had told Lauren: "That was very, very smart, I loved that version of the song. That was doing your twist on a fantastic song."
