X Factor finalists: Only The Young reckon they have advantage over new boy band

Only The Young (X Factor 2014)

X Factor 2014's Only The Young reckon they've got quite the advantage over their eight piece boy band rivals.

Tonight sees the first live show of the series as the finalists go head to head to win public votes and avoid the sing off.

Speaking ahead of their first performance and sizing up their competition, Only The Young said their two years together gives them a head start on the new eight piece boy band who were put together at bootcamp.

Betsy Blue said: "It definitely helps being together for two years because we know each other inside out."

Charlie added: "I we have to arrange a song quickly even if one of us isn't there, we know each other's voices so we can work it out.

Meanwhile, speaking about how it felt when Louis Walsh put them through to the live shows at judges' houses last weekend, Betsy Blue recalled: "You forget your being filmed.

"All you're focused on is getting through so you embarrassed yourself very easily! I was crying all over Dermot's shirt, it was covered in make up"

Charlie laughed: "You can see the amount of foundation on Dermot's right shoulder where all these girls hug him and cry into his shoulder. The poor guy had so much to deal with."
