X Factor's Blonde Electra explain their name change

Why did Blonde Electric change their name?

X Factor's Blonde Electra have explained why their name has changed.

The sister duo made it through to the live shows at the weekend in Louis Walsh's groups category, where they went from being Blonde Electric to Blonde Electra.

No reason was given at the time and seems even they aren't exactly too sure why it changed, saying this week: “Blonde Electric is too descriptive."

They claimed: “We’re going for an independent strong woman that represents Blonde Electra.

“I like it, I think it’s got a good ring to it.”

Blonde Electra, made up of sisters Ruby and Jazzy, real names Natalia and Jasmina, are one of Louis' three groups in the live shows.

This week he defended taking the pair into the finals, saying: “I think the calibre has been great this year. I love Blonde [Electra].

“People are calling them the female Jedward but they are no comedy, they are just different.”

But despite Louis' enthusiasm for them, Blonde Electra have been installed as the favourites to get the boot in the first results show this Sunday night.

The X Factor live shows begin tomorrow evening on ITV.
