Cheryl Cole has come under attack after her X Factor 2014 finalists were revealed.
The Girls Aloud singer last night picked Chloe Jasmine, Stephanie Nala and Lauren Platt for the live shows.
It meant sending home Kerrianne Covell, Emily Middlemas and Lola Saunders.
The decisions caused outrage on Twitter and forums with many accusing Cheryl of picking "style over substance."
One viewer claimed: "Cheryl sent home the 3 with the best voices."
And another fan quipped: "Don't think she wanted girls who could sing better than her."
On Twitter and Natalie @iCantEven_JB_1D said: "Dear X factor, what's the point in lowering the age limit if you're sending all the young ones home because 'they're not ready'"
Cheryl last night defended her choices, claiming that good singers were BORING.
“A lot of girls sang amazingly but it gets boring,” she said. “You would get to week three of the live shows and you would be like, ‘OK, you can sing very well but I wouldn’t want to watch you in concert’."
To be fair, all six of the girls were pretty good and we reckon it would've been hard for any one to pick three without upsetting some people.
And of course one more girl will still make it through to the live shows in the X Factor wild card twist!.
