X Factor 2014: Simon Cowell disappointed by RUBBISH performances from Overs

Simon and Sinitta

X Factor boss Simon Cowell is left disappointed with his acts at judges' hosues tonight.

Simon is joined by Sinitta in LA as he picks three from the Overs category for the live shows.

But things don't go to plan as the performers crack.

Jay James disappoints Simon with a cover of REM's Everybody Hurts.

Simon comments: "I'm going to be honest with you Jay, I wasn't crazy about that song.

"Seriously, all I want is for this to change your life for the better."

He later tells Sinitta in private: "He hasn't been as good as that first audition."

Sinitta replies: "I must admit I haven't seen what all the excitement was about."

Stevi Ritchie's performance of I'm A Believer provokes a response of "What was that?" from Simon while he comments on Fleur East as she prepares to sing: "I hardly remember this girl, I couldn't tell you anything she sang before."

And as for Lizzy Pattinson, Simon says: "She doesn't quite make that impact, would she get swallowed up on the stage?"

Even favourite Helen Fulthorpe struggles with a poor rendition of Etta James' I'd Rather Go Blind leaving Simon underwhelmed.

"She's got timing issues. I'm really disappointed," Simon comments, "No grit."

Helen herself admits to Dermot: "I thought it went really out of tune."

The X Factor 2014 airs this evening from 8PM on ITV.
