The Voice 2015 auditions see X Factor's Luke Friend

Luke Friend

Former X Factor live show finalist Luke Friend has turned up at auditions for The Voice UK.

The singer, who recently announced a record deal with RCA records, made the final of last year's X Factor.

He was originally due to release a single in the summer and an album this autumn, but now won't be releaising his new material until the New Year.

"It should be out in January and the album will be later. I’ll have a couple of singles out before the album," he said earlier this year. "I’d like to thank everyone for being so patient with me."

And the reason has apparently become clear, after the 18-year-old turned up in Manchester this week for auditions of The Voice UK 2015.

He was preparing to sing for the new judging line up of Rita Ora, Will.i.am, Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson on the BBC series, which is currently recording blind auditions for its fourth run.

Luke was pictured being chased by fans and signing autographs outside the studios in Salford before his blind audition this afternoon (October 2).

The Voice UK starts in January on BBC One.
