Cheryl Cole was 'forced' to take Chloe Jasmine through on The X Factor 2014, it's been claimed.
Yesterday we saw Cheryl make a surprise last minute choice to bring Chloe back at bootcamp having ditched her earlier on in the evening.
It saw Chloe make it through to judges' houses in Cheryl's category despite a really woeful performance at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
But it's been claimed that Cheryl's change of mind only happened after a tense stand off with producers which played out as the live audience watched on.
“Cheryl had axed Chloe despite Simon Cowell begging her to keep her," a source said this weekend. “It was only after the producers went to see Cheryl that she suddenly changed her mind.
“The mood in the audience was already pretty toxic and after that it looked like there was going to be a riot. Tensions were high.”
Simon had told Cheryl she had "made a mistake" and was seen urging her to "change your mind"
The show source added to The Sun newspaper: “Cheryl will say she made the decision. But to anyone in the audience who saw her heated exchange with producers, it didn’t seem that way.”
On Thursday we told how Chloe was given a secret second chance to perform during the arena audition.
Last night, Cheryl defended her bootcamp decisions and explained her apparent reasoning for bringing back Chloe Jasmine in the last minute switch.
She said: "I love Chloe, you don't want to see the same, the same, the same, there are people that sing as professionals but don't do anything to me, personally.
"I think its fair I'm honest with myself."
