Cheryl Cole has revealed plans to start her own record label from The X Factor 2014.
The former Girls Aloud singer is reportedly preparing to launch her own music company next year following the release of her own album later this autumn.
We're not sure how Simon will take the news but a supposed "music industry source" claimed it was the "natural step for Cheryl".
“She knows what it takes to succeed in the industry from her experience as a performer – both as a solo artist and as a group, from her years in Girls Aloud," the insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “Cheryl definitely knows her stuff. The artists she’ll be interested in won’t just be pop acts – it will cross over all genres.
“She loves music and is really excited about being able to springboard new talent."
The source went on to claim that there was "interest from all the big labels" to help Cheryl, but that the Geordie may just work on her own.
They added: “Once [Cheryl's new album] Only Human has been released – towards the end of the year – she’s going to focus all her attention on her label."
Cheryl said back in 2009 that her ultimate aim was to eventually start her own record label.
“I’d love to have my own label in the future," she said. “I would love to be on that side of it, I love hearing new artists, I love choosing songs and developing acts. So that’s something I’ve got planned.”
