The X Factor 2014 ratings are struggling to stay still this year, down for the third week in a row.
The new series opened with 9.5 million viewers last month but dropped to 8.9 million viewers last Saturday.
Last night's first Arena auditions show saw the viewing figures dip ever so slightly again with 8.87 million viewers, including those who had caught up on ITV+1 an hour later.
The Arena try outs with down on last year's equivalent show, which had just over 9 million viewers back on September 14 2013.
Today's The X Factor ratings are however well up on last Sunday's previous episode, which clashed with Strictly Come Dancing's launch show and lost out big time, and rated 7.8 million viewers.
And despite struggling to match up to its own highs, The X Factor was easily the most watched show of the week so far.
Over on BBC One and the final of Tumble, which saw the first (and probably last) ever winner crowned, was seem by just 2.7 million viewers.
The X Factor continues tonight on ITV at 8PM.
