X Factor 2014 judges' houses: All you need to know


It's judges' houses on The X Factor 2014 this weekend as the finalists are confirmed - here's all you need to know.

What time does the X Factor start this weekend?

It's another three day special on The X Factor this weekend with shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday's show airs from 8PM until 9PM and continues on both Saturday and Sunday at 8PM on ITV.

What are the judges' categories and locations?

This year the Groups category will jet off to Bermuda to sing for Louis Walsh, Simon Cowell invites the Over 25s category to his home in Los Angeles, the Girls category are hosted by Cheryl Fernandez-Versini in Nice, and the Boys category fly out to Mexico to perform for Mel B.

Who are the X Factor guest judges?

Cheryl will be joined by Crazy Stupid Love collaborator Tinie Tempah.

Mel B will be joined by her Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton.

Louis will be joined by former X Factor judge Tulisa.

Simon will be joined by who else? Sinitta!

How do judges' houses work?

Usually each act will perform twice for the judges (although only one performance is one is actually shown on the main show).

Each judge will then confer with heir guest mentor before deciding on the three they want to take through to the live shows.

One by one, each act will be informed of the choice in what's sure to be a very tear filled ten minutes of telly.

Is there a twist?

YES. This year there will be FOUR wild card contestants (one in each category) but there's another twist: > X Factor wild card twist details!

What happens next?

It's TIME TO FACE THE MUSIC with the live shows. The twelve SIXTEEN finalists will perform head to head and the public will decide who stays.
