Simon Cowell reckons himself as the top dog on The X Factor 2014, but some stats prove otherwise.
After doing some number crunching, it turns out that Mel B and Cheryl Cole both stand a much better chance of producing this year’s X Factor winner than show boss Simon.
According to stats put together by the folks over at BrightHouse, 80% of X Factor winners were mentored by female judges, from Cheryl to Tulisa and Dannii Minogue.
It's sure to leave Simon rather red faced after he claimed that singers made for rubbish judges.
He said recently: “Singers don’t want to find stars. It’s not in their DNA. They only think about themselves. That is the nature of being a solo artist.
"I own a record label. So the only thing I’m interested in is finding a star."
Brighthouse also put together the anatomy of this year's potential X Factor winner based on those of the past ten years.
They suggest we should be on the look out for a 23-year-old female, who doesn't have any children and either works as a waitress or is a student.
A spokesman for Brighthouse said: "Our customers love X Factor which is why we carried out the research into the backgrounds of previous winners of the show, and we've been able to get a good idea of who people will vote for this year.
"It's interesting that Simon said that neither of the female judges would mentor a winner as history would dictate that they stand a much better chance than himself or Louis Walsh."
