Ella Henderson's debut song Ghost has been named as the biggest song of Summer 2014.

Former X Factor finalist Ella released the track back in June and it's since sold just under 600,000 copies, having spent some 12 weeks in the chart and still in the Top 15.

Ella told OfficialCharts.com: “I am completely overwhelmed by the success of Ghost!

"To have one of the biggest selling songs of the year is absolutely insane. It doesn't feel real. I can't thank everyone enough for all the support. Thank you!”

Ghost, which was co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, topped the Official Singles Chart back in June.

The song is the first to be taken from Ella's debut album Chapter One, which will be released later on in the year.

Her new single Glow is out on October 5.

Ed Sheeran's Sing, Magic!'s Rude, George Ezra's Budapest and Sam Smith's Stay With Me completed the official list of this summer's top five selling songs.
