X Factor UK's top five novelty acts (so far)

Rylan Clark (Big Brother 2014)

With news that The X Factor is after more fun and camp novelty acts this year, we chose some of our favourites from the past decade.

It was reported today that X Factor boss Simon Cowell wants more novelty acts for this autumn's show in order to avoid last year's boring dullfest.

If the X Factor chiefs are in need of some inspiration, we've put together our favourite so-called novelty acts from over the years.

Tell us yours in the comments below!

Rylan Clark

One of the most successful true novelty acts both on and off the show, Rylan's personality took over series nine and seemingly hasn't left our telly since. HE'S BLOODY EVERYWHERE STILL.

Same Difference

Back when novelty acts still could actually sing quite well, we really loved brother and sister duo Same Difference. They actually made it all the way to the final, and even released an album which is more than some actual talent show winners can say.

Jedward

Arguably the biggest reality telly novelty act from the show: Jedward have reportedly amassed the fifth biggest ever X Factor fortune after their appearance back in series eight. However since flopping at Eurovison in 2012 for Ireland it seems that their star has (finally) faded.

James Arthur

We don't think show bosses ever intended James to turn into a novelty act but it's hard to argue his career is (or rather was) anything else.

Wagner

We still haven't washed the hand that he touched when we met him on the set of the X Factor back in 2010. One Direction who?
