X Factor's Cheryl Cole is on course to top the charts in today's Official Chart Update.

Her new single Crazy Stupid Love is the first to be taken from new album Only Human and has sold over 77,000 copies already according to OfficialCharts.com.

It's set to be Cheryl's fourth number one hit after Fight For This Love, Promise This and Call My Name.

According to today's midweek sales data, the song is currently 22,000 copies ahead of its closest rival, Magic's Rude.

But it could end up being a close battle for the top spot come Sunday night with Magic heading for their first UK Top 40 hit this weekend.

The track made its chart debut at the start of the month thanks to streaming and climbed last week to number 50.

It's now shot all the way up to Number 2 and is poised to overtake the Geordie before the week is out.

Meanwhile, X Factor's Ella Henderson holds firm at Number 4 with Ghost, while Cheryl's former X Factor act Cher Lloyd debuts just inside the Top 30 with comeback song Sirens.
