X Factor 2014: Chery Cole leads Cher Lloyd chart battle

Cheryl Cole is leading what has become a non-existant chart battle between herself and Cher Lloyd.

The pair both released new singles this and while Cheryl is on course to go straight in at Number 1, Cher's new track Sirens is struggling to hold on to a spot in the Top 40.

Cher returned to the UK last month to promote the song following success in the US, including collaborating with Demi Lovato on her new track Really Don't Care.

But it seems that us Brits still aren't taking too kindly to the former X Factor finalist despite Sirens being a rather epic pop ballad.

The track only managed to peak in the Top 30 of the iTunes chart and is already falling, currently down to 32.

Cheryl's Crazy Stupid Love on the other hand is at Number 1 having reportedly sold over 10,000 copies in its first half hour on sale, thanks to pre-orders.

The first official midweek chart update will be revealed on Wednesday afternoon on Radio 1.
