Well, it turns out it's not just the so-called 'Cheryl cam' that Mel is unhappy with.
The Spice Girl is also said to be annoyed that she's not sitting next to Simon on the panel.
It was said before auditions started that Cheryl's seat next to the boss came about because she refused to sit next to Louis Walsh.
But it put Mel B out.
"Mel was fuming she wasn't sat next to Simon," a source told heat magazine. "Simon had promised her she'd get as much attention as Cheryl and straight away she was separated from him. "
However a comprise - of sorts - has been made.
The insider revealed: "In the end, Simon gave in and said he'd make sure Mel gets to sit next to him once in every three auditions."
While Mel rages at Simon, Louis on the other hand has been left somewhat wound up by the return of Cheryl.
The X Factor source claimed: "Louis has been saying that having Cheryl back is 'the return of the drama Queen' and that it's all about her.
"It's starting to wind Cheryl up already."
Speaking about the show last week, Cheryl confessed there had been lots of bickering between her and the Irish music mogul.
The X Factor returns to ITV in the summer with the latest auditions in Wembley later this month.
