Louis Walsh's future on The X Factor 2014 is still up in the air, Simon Cowell has confirmed.
So far only Cheryl Cole and Simon himself have been confirmed for the new series, which kicks off in the autumn on ITV.
While Simon has said he wants Simon back, he admitted that so far nothing has been signed and he still needs to talk to bosses at ITV.
"Louis I would like to come back, but it's a decision I've got to make with the producers and ITV, so we'll see what happens," he said this week. “I hope I don’t have to talk ITV round.
"I would like to think after 10 years Louis deserves a spot."
Simon continued: "Wouldn’t you miss him if he wasn’t there? I tried it without him once and it didn’t work.
“He does make a long day fun and when he is on his game, he can do a really good job."
Simon previously revealed that Cheryl was still against Louis' return, saying last weeek: “I want Louis to come back, Cheryl doesn’t To be honest with you, I can’t imagine doing the show without him.”
The music mogul went on to reveal that after talking about possible choices with Cheryl, it could be a new face that we see on the show this year.
“We’ve talked about who she would like and she wouldn’t like,” he said. “I’m coming to the conclusion that I would maybe like to put somebody we’ve never seen before on TV, and go back to where it started.”
