X Factor boss Simon Cowell has denied slating Gary Barlow.
Simon hit the headlines this morning over claims that he had blamed X Factor's ratings slump on Gary.
The record label chief ruled out Gary ever returning to the panel and boasted: “It is not so much what I say on the show as what I can do. I do believe I am the best person at spotting a potential star and making them work well on the show.
“That is what I am good at doing, not being a bigmouth – it is making the show I am on better.”
However speaking at today's Britain's Got Talent launch in London, Simon insisted that he wasn't being rude about Gary.
"A lot of the stuff I've read that I was slating Gary Barlow... I mean that's not true," he told DigitalSpy. "Gary did a fab job. I did make a comment we have different tastes - if he was running a record company and I was running a record company."
Meanwhile the music mogul told us that this year's new judges were still very much up in the air. He said: "Most of the stuff I've read about literally isn't true.
"It's a three month filming schedule so you've got to find someone who wants to who has literally nothing in their diary for three months, plus who wants to do the mentoring and coaching. It's hard."
