The Voice UK 2014: Sally Barker wants to be 'the new Sam Bailey'

Sally Barker (The Voice 2014)

Sally Barker has said she hopes to become the 'new Sam Bailey' by winning The Voice UK.

The Team Tom singer is one of four remaining finalists in the competition.

This weekend the folk singer will be going head to head with Team Will's Jermain Jackman, Team Kylie's Jamie Johnson, and Team Ricky's Christina-Marie Wickens to be crowned winner of The Voice UK.

Sally said this week: “Sam Bailey has shown what a woman from Leicester can do so I hope I can emulate her by being a winner.”

Speaking after winning the semi-final for Team Tom at the weekend against Bizzi Dixon, Sally told the Leicester Mercury: “I can’t believe this has happened to me. It is a dream come true.

“Bizzi is a great guy and it is shame one of us had to go out but that they way it is. He is a great singer and it was pleasure to share the stage with him.”

Now she's in the final, Sally vowed she wasn't going to let up with the performances.

“I feel so lucky to have got through to the final and I’m not going to take it easy," she added. “The hard work starts now, and I will be rehearsing with Sir Tom to make sure I give it my best shot next Saturday.”

The Voice UK 2014 final airs this Saturday night on BBC One from 7PM.
