Rita Ora has confirmed reports linking her to The X Factor 2014.
But the singer revealed that she had already turned down a role on the show to focus on her new album.
Rita was apparently top of X Factor boss Simon Cowell's wish list to join the show this year, alongside himself, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh on the panel.
'R.I.P' hitmaker Rita - who previously appeared as a guest judge on the show - this week explained why she said no.
The singer told The Sun: “I would have loved to have done it.
"I’m such a fan of the show but if I did that, then I can’t do this. I didn’t want to do an album and do promo and go on tour and have that responsibility at the same time.”
It's the second time that Rita has snubbed the show after producers originally tried to persuade her to join instead of Nicole Scherzinger in 2012.
“There were talks. But if I were to take on that role it would have to be at a point when I could give it my full attention," she said at the time following her guest judging stint. “I have so much to accomplish first and it’s kind of a full-time job being on X Factor.
“It’s not like a nine to five. It’s constant, for months.”
While Mel B is now the latest name to be rumoured to join Cheryl, Louis and Simon, the Syco chief revealed earlier in the week that he was also considering a more left field choice by bringing in an 'unknown'.
He teased: “It would be someone who does this for a living — a manager, a songwriter. That’s my preference.”
The X Factor airs in the autumn on ITV.
