After a musical an X Factor movie could be next for the hit the ITV series.
This week saw the official opening of I Can't Sing!, a parody musical of the singing contest written by comic Harry Hill.
Simon Cowell, who is one of the producers of the new West End show, is now hoping that he can turn it into a movie... if the musical is a success, at least.
"I think it would work really well onscreen," he said on the red carpet of the event earlier in the week. “At the moment I just want to get I Can’t Sing off the ground, but I can see it working as a film in the future.”
Simon told reporters at the London Palladium that working on the show had been like having a "second baby" to him.
“It’s exciting, and I never thought I’d be in this spot," the Syco chief confessed. “I don’t know much about the West End of musicals.
"But the very first time I saw the run-through, I really, really liked it.
“Now I’ve seen the Twitter reaction to the previews and the people who have seen it really love it. I’m thrilled.”
I Can't Sing! is playing now at the London Palladium.
