First X Factor 2014 auditions begin in Belfast

X Factor 2014 auditions

The first of this year's X Factor 2014 auditions have kicked off in Northern Ireland.

Full open try outs for the show begin next month but smaller mobile auditions are already underway.

The X Factor mobile auditions sees little more than a tent travelling around the UK scouting for talent. Hopefuls turn up and sing for a small crew in a bid to go on and face the judges later this year.

One hopeful who successfully tried out in Belfast this week was hairdresser Courtney-Maree McCann.

She told the Belfast Telegraph: "I can't believe I got through. I've done some gigs close to where I live.

"I always watch X Factor. Simon Cowell is my favourite judge. I think he is beautiful. I am sorry, but I have such a crush on him. I wouldn't have auditioned if he wasn't back this year."

The X Factor mobile auditions continue next week in Newquay, Exeter, Bournemouth, Southampton and Bristol.

Open auditions will air in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, London, Cardiff, Birmingham and Plymouth.
