Cheryl Cole is reportedly after the groups on The X Factor this year.
The former Girls Aloud star is back on the panel for the eleventh series and is apparently calling the shots.
The ever reliable Daily Star newspaper claim that Cheryl had demanded that she get the groups category this year, which would be a first for the Geordie singer, who has only ever had the Boys and Girls.
“Cheryl has told Simon she wants the groups. She’s calling the shots this year, so it’s practically a done deal," a supposed insider told the tabloid.
The publication claims that Cheryl wants to get help from the stars of All Saints, Little Mix, JLS and of course her ex-Girls Aloud bandmates when it comes to mentoring to the notoriously difficult category.
“She wants to show X Factor bosses what they’ve been missing,” the source claimed. “She’s determined to win.”
However it was previously reported that Cheryl was also asking for a complete overhaul of the X Factor categories.
Rather than each judge getting one specific category of singers – the Boys, Girls, Overs and Groups – the panelists would instead get one singer from each category.
It’d still leave them with a team of four singers for the live shows but completely mix up the acts between the judges.
“Cheryl has been very vocal about ideas and changes that could liven things up,” a source told The Sun newspaper last week.
The X Factor airs in the autumn on ITV.
