The X Factor UK needs Cheryl Cole, her bandmate Kimberley Walsh has said.
Kimberley, who is previously competed in rival series Strictly Come Dancing, claimed that The X Factor has been missing the Geordie singer.
Cheryl quit the series in 2010 but it was confirmed earlier this month that she would be back on the panel alongside Simon Cowell for the summer's eleventh series.
“I think it misses Cheryl. She was brilliant on it and I think she’s missed. She and Simon were very amusing to watch. It was a good chemistry and I think that is missed," Kimberley said.
The Girls Aloud star, who had been linked to a role on the Xtra Factor back in 2010, continued: “The whole line-up of judges has changed over the years and the time Cheryl was involved was a great time for the show. There were some great winners and it was all about the talent.”
Naturally, Kimberley now reckons Strictly is by far the better show now.
The Bradford beauty, who finished second in the series, said: “The thing about Strictly is it is so happy. It’s a warm show and people have embraced it.
"People want escapism, they want to be happy, and The X Factor is a lot more serious. It is people’s lives at stake and it does really matter if people go."
The X Factor 2014 will air on ITV this summer with open auditions beginning next month.
