Xtra Factor host Matt Richardson has said he wants to see Louis Walsh back on the show.
However Matt revealed his future on the series is as up in the air as Louis'.
There had been rumours that bosses had axed the comic but he insisted: "It's one of those things that you don't know until quite late - that's just how they operate.
"I had loads of fun doing it. It was such a fun six months, so I would do it again, but it's kind of hard to work out if they want you or if people liked you and stuff. So I'm not sure. It's their decision - if they ask me, I'll say yes!"
Regardless of his own future, Matt's backing Louis to return to the panel and told DigitalSpy: "It's not much without him, is it?
"He's the guy. He's been there ten years. X Factor without Louis is like separating Ant and Dec. You just can't do it. That's not how it works. X Factor isn't X Factor without Louis Walsh."
Simon Cowell and Chery Cole are already confirmed for this year's judging line up and Matt reckons that adding a rock star would make for the best panel yet.
He said: "Cheryl's from pop, so to get a big rock star would be really cool. I think that would be really interesting, to have a whole other side of the music industry involved."
The X Factor begins later this year on ITV.
