X Factor winner Sam Bailey has hit back at claims her career is over following news of her pregnancy.
Sam announced last week that she was expecting a third child with her husband.
"I was really upset because I thought I’d let everyone at my management and the record label down," Sam revealed. “But they were really good about it. I was going to go on tour solo at the end of October — but I have managed to move it until January.”
However while Sam's been left overwhelmed by the news she's come under fire with one commentator branding her a "typical woman".
“I’ve had some negativity about my pregnancy," Sam admitted. "I've had people on Twitter saying 'Your career's going to be over' or 'That's your career down the pan' and I'm like 'Why's that?'"
Sam went on: “You know what, I’ll prove I can still have my career.I'm always going to be working no matter what. I'm living proof you can do it, whether you're pregnant or have kids already."
Meanwhile, speaking to OK! magazine, Sam suggested that mentor Sharon Osbourne would make an "amazing" godmother for her new son or daughter.
"She [Sharon] was over the moon. She loves babies anyway," former prison officer Sam explained. "She said 'Take it easy, look after yourself, and don't let them grind you down'.
"I’d love Sharon to be a godmother to my child – it would be amazing, it would be a great thing to do but I wouldn't be cheeky enough to ask her."
