Dannii Minogue is backing Cheryl Cole's comeback on The X Factor 2014.
Former judge Dannii, who appeared alongside Cheryl on the panel between 2008 and 2011, said she felt the Girls Aloud star could easily take on the show again as the lone female judge.
"I don’t know what’s going on with the panel but if Cheryl does come back as the only girl I don’t think she’ll miss female company too much," Dannii explained. “I liked the fashion wars but Cheryl will have more than enough glamour and frocks to do it on her own.
“And she can definitely hold her own with just the boys. I think she’ll love it.”
Dannii previously ruled herself out of a return to The X Factor herself, at least for this year, following numerous rumours after boss Simon Cowell announced he would be back on the UK series.
"Definitely not coming back to the X Factor UK this year… but never say never [in the future]," Dannii said last month.
With Cheryl widely expected to be on the show alongside Simon and Louis Walsh it leaves just one other judge to be found.
Rita Ora had been linked to the talent contest but this week it was reported she had turned down a £1 million offer.
“She wants to focus purely on her music and not get distracted by other things," an insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper. "She also saw how Jessie J’s album struggled after she appeared as a coach on The Voice, and thinks the two could be connected."
Former X Factor finalist Olly Murs is now the favourite to be revealed as this year's new judge, although strictly speaking only Simon himself is officially confirmed for the panel so far.
The X Factor 2014 begins filming in June and will air on ITV in the autumn.
