Cheryl Cole's return to The X Factor 2014 is reportedly set to be confirmed within the next few days.
The Girls Aloud star has been in not-so-secret talks about making a comeback to the reality show for some weeks now.
According to the Daily Mirror, Cheryl last met Simon last week where the pair "informally" agreed a deal.
A source told the Daily Mirror (via Radio Times) that Cheryl's “return is now 99 per cent concluded”.
Speaking earlier this month at auditions for Britain's Got Talent, Simon spoke out about the rumours and confirmed he did want Cheryl back on the panel this summer.
“I want to go back to where we left off in 2010… if we do another year like that it’ll be amazing," he said.
The music mogul revealed there had been talks between the pair but that Cheryl was keeping her "poker face" on for the time being.
“It’s about whether she wants to do it and whether she can handle the pressure, so I’m not quite sure yet," Simon said.
With Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne having all left the panel there is still another spot on the judging line up for grabs alongside Simon and Louis Walsh.
Favourites are said to include Rita Ora, Olly Murs and Robbie Williams.
