Cheryl Cole is reportedly still "torn" over whether or not to return to The X Factor UK.
X Factor boss Simon Cowell has made it clear he wants Cheryl back on the panel but the Girls Aloud star is yet to sign a contract.
Talking at auditions of Britain’s Got Talent at the Hammersmith Apollo last week, Simon said: “I would love Cheryl to come back.
“I tell you why. Apart from the fact she is a star, when she is on it she is on it. So we will have to wait and see.”
And although nothing is yet official, Simon seemed optimistic that Cheryl would be on the show this year.
“It’s about whether she wants to do it and deal with it again," he added. “She’s looking and sounding the best I’ve seen her in years.”
But a source said this week that Cheryl was "torn" on whether or not to take up Simon's offer of a comeback.
"She's back in the studio at the moment and will have a new album out at the end of the year, so The X Factor would give her a great platform to promote it," the insider explained. "And she would love to prove Simon and the industry that she's still got it.
"But, at the same time, Cheryl doesn't want to be humiliated again and she knows what a circus The X Factor can be."
Speaking to Star magazine, the source added: "She isn't sure she wants to go through all that madness again."
