Another day, another X Factor 2014 judges rumour is doing the rounds.
This time it's Olly Murs who is being linked to the panel and not for the first time.
The former X Factor finalist is said to be in talks with producers to join the show, sitting alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole on the new look panel.
According to The Sun newspaper (paid link), X Factor boss Simon reckons that Cheryl and Olly would have great chemistry, and hopes that the move could help persuade Cheryl to sign her own contract.
"Simon wants Cheryl back more than anything and his idea is to make her the complete star of the show," a source told the tabloid. “She’s very tempted by his offer and looks close to saying yes. But she is concerned about everyone trying to whip up another female bitch fight between her and a new female judge."
The supposed insider added: “There’s also a feeling Cheryl and Olly would have great chemistry.
“He really fancies her and she would happily play along because she’s very fond of him.”
Speaking last year about similar rumours, Olly said: “It would be incredible. I did the show in 2009, so I’ve pretty much done everything, I’ve been a contestant, I’ve been a presenter, I’ve cleaned, I’ve done everything.
“I think if I got offered the job to be a judge it’d be amazing. It’d be an honour for me, it really would. I mean I’d have to wait for Mr Cowell to make that decision.”
Other rumoured judges include Rita Ora and Dannii Minogue.
So far only Simon is officially confirmed as returning with announcements about the other judges not expected for some weeks yet.
The X Factor begins filming in the summer with the show returning to ITV in the autumn.
