The X Factor has denied claims that comedian Matt Richardson has been dropped from ITV2 spin-off show The Xtra Factor.
It was reported at the weekend that Matt had been axed after just one series as he hadn't proved popular enough with viewers.
However, ITV has since clarified that it is too early for such a decision to be made, with production of the new series not expected to begin until late Spring.
An X Factor spokesperson said: "No decisions have been taken about the presenters for this year’s Xtra Factor and they won’t be for some months, as the show does not return until later in the year.
"Any claims otherwise are just pure speculation at the moment."
Matt, 22, joined The Xtra Factor last year as Caroline Flack's new co-presenter after Olly Murs was forced to leave after two series.
In December, Caroline told Digital Spy that she wasn't sure whether she'd return to her role, saying: "It takes up your whole year and it's been three years of that for me. But I'd hate to watch it and not be working on it."
The X Factor will return for its eleventh run in the Autumn, with rumours suggesting that Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole could return to the judging panel.
